The British Ambassador to Lithuania, Mr Simon Butt,  presented his credentials to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus at an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace on 26 May, 2008.

Simon Butt is a career member of the British diplomatic service.  His previous postings have included Moscow, Rangoon, Brussels, Kiev and Islamabad.

Mr Butt looks forward to working for the future of relations between the UK and Lithuania as partners and allies in the EU and NATO and plans to have contacts across a wide range of Lithuanian Society.
