Remembrance Day Service, 8 November 2009 (26/10/2009)
The Remembrance Day service in Vilnius will be held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Vilnius Vokiečių g. 20, at 0930 hrs on Sunday 8 November.
Each year Commonwealth members take time to mark Remembrance Day which traditionally is held on the anniversary of the signature of the Armistice on 11 November 1918.
The focus of Remembrance Day has always been on those who lost their lives in the two World Wars of the last Century. In recent years it has become customary to include in an inter-denominational act of Remembrance all those who have fallen or been victims of conflict, violence or terrorism.
